IN LOVING MEMORY

Arick Jordan Jackson was born May 10, 1996 at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, Maryland to Deadra Jackson and Alfred Smith Jr. Arick received his wings and peacefully departed this life on September 10, 2021 in Waldorf, Maryland.

From the age of 3, Arick was a basketball fanatic. Arick was always taller than the other children his age, so it seemed he was born to be a ball player. He would carry his ball around everywhere, even if he wasn’t playing. His dream was to be “just like Kobe”.

In elementary school Arick joined his first basketball team, The Shabach Warriors. It was there that he met Coach Briscoe. He learned a lot about basketball but he also learned lessons on life, family and most importantly GOD.

In middle school Arick joined TEAM CHAOS with Coach Tony and Mrs. Gina and instantly became a part of their family. It wasn’t unusual for Arick to spend more time at their house than he did at home. Arick saw Coach Tony as a mentor, big brother, fun uncle and second dad all rolled into one. Arick grew to love Tony, Gina, AJ, Taty and Taylore as he did his own family. He remained a loyal member of the Chaos family throughout high school.

Arick started his education in Prince George’s County Public Schools and earned his diploma in Charle’s County Public Schools. In school, Arick proved to be extremely intelligent and lovable with an infectious personality. You just had to love him.

Arick’s charisma helped him in his professional life. If he had the opportunity to interview with you, he would definitely get the job. Arick was a hard worker, often working two jobs at a time. He loved his job at Bates and cherished his friendship with his coworker Giani. He shared with his Mom how much he appreciated Giani always having his back and teaching him how to be a man.

He was a smooth talker. His smooth talking, paired with his love for fashion and “Pretty Face” made him quite the Ladies Man. The ladies loved Arick, but what he loved most of all was his family. He was crazy about his mother, enjoyed partying with his father and cherished every moment spent with his 7 sisters and 2 brothers. He bragged about them to anyone who would listen. Arick also loved music and would often make rap videos with his cousins. While they may not have been professionals, they made lasting memories and they had fun doing it.

In the most recent days Arick enjoyed long conversations with his favorite uncle Johnnie about GOD and manhood.

One of Arick’s favorite quotes to share with his siblings was “JESUS loves you and I DO TOO!”

He leaves to cherish his memories: His mother, Deadra; father, Alfred; siblings, Ashley; Aaron; Parris; Armani; Seirra; Priyanna; Chauncy; Erica and Elysia; grandparents: Patsy and Melvin Turner; David Jackson and Jennifer Keller; WarleneSmith special aunt: Deniece Holmes; special cousins: Renia and Renard Lane, and a host of family and friends.

Preceded in death by his grandfather Alfred Smith Sr and Aunt Dorothy Yeager.

On Tuesday, March 5, 2019, Walter Eugene Thomas received his wings and robe of glory!

IT’S SO HARD TO SAY GOODBYE TO YESTERDAY! Walter Eugene Thomas (Zaee) was born on April 21, 2000. He graduated from Thomas Stone Senior High School in June 2018 with honors. Walter accepted the Lord as his personal Savoir at an early age. He was baptized at Kingdom Baptist Church in Waldorf, Maryland. He later joined the Church of Greater Love, where he initially served as an usher.

Walter was a fun loving and happy person. He loved telling jokes and making people laugh. He loved children and assisted at the Greater Love Daycare Center. Often you would find him babysitting his nieces and nephew. Walter’s desire was to become an entrepreneur. He dreamed of someday owning his own barbershop.

Walter leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother Shenna Foster, father Walter Daniel Thomas, brothers Tony Sullivan, Ir., BaShawn McDonald and Lorenzo McDonald, sister Theresa dams, grandparents; Joseph and Sheila Foster, Donald and Nancy Staten, aunts; LaShawn Cuffie, Shantiea Dean, Beatrice Foster and Yvonne Galloway, uncles; Duane Foster, Gerald Cuffie, Kenneth Deans, Jerry Mungro and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Walter’s Favorite Sayings:

“Brah Let me tell you!!!”

“Ya’ll some Rooster’s, I’m a Spring Chicken”

“Don’t call me Fat Girl, only my brothers can call me that!!!

“When it’s my time to go, it’s time for me to go. I’m not scared to die”
